Lets start this weekend!!
If you haven’t heard, the Michigan legislature recently approved a bill to allow the trophy hunting of wolves in Michigan for the first time in nearly 50 years! Luckily, a coalition of animal welfare, conservation groups and Native American tribes launched a referendum campaign this week to qualify for the November 2014 general election ballot to reverse this.
Jill Fritz, from the HSUS, is leading the way and we need to gather 225,000 signatures by late March in order to qualify for the ballot.
The petitions were approved yesterday so will have them ready for the Plymouth Ice Fest. Sunday Harvie, a PMA member, is helping me coordinate some of our PMA members who wish to help.
If you haven’t RSVPed to help this weekend and would like to come out for the wolves, please RSVP our Ice Dog Events (Saturday or Sunday) already on the calendar. Just make a note in the comments which hours you can help.
