Puppy Mill Awareness Meetup (Southeast Michigan) Message Board › ACTION ALERT: Send letters to Judge Jackson (Pet Station)
Sorry for the late notice on this, but there is still time to send a letter to the judge asking for a tough sentence for the owner of Pet Station. Sentencing is scheduled for Wed, 9/12/12. Make sure you include the case number.

Case # 125119
September 7, 2012
Dear Judge Jackson,
On behalf of Puppy Mill Awareness of Southeast Michigan, I am writing to you regarding the case involving Ramzi Dakhlallah (Animal Abandonment and Cruelty). In light of the extreme neglect and the suffering that these animals must have endured, I urge you to ensure that this crime is fully punished—with sentencing conditions upon conviction that include meaningful jail time and a permanent ban on contact with animals.
Profits were clearly a motivation. Vet care is costly and the store simply turned their backs on suffering animals. In fact, they passed their problems onto the community. This store left families burdened with vet bills and heartbreak. My organization is working to help all the victims of the pet trade including the breeding dogs that supplied this store, the sick puppies sold and the families that have to care for sick animals sometimes their entire lives. Senator Beida of Warren has introduced a Pet Lemon Law that will protect families from stores like Pet Station that recklessly sell unhealthy animals.
Michiganians have no tolerance for animal abuse and want those who commit such gratuitously violent acts against animals held accountable. The sheer cruelty involved at the pet store is shocking and demands accountability.
