Dispell the Fog of Confusion around Python packaging tools

We'll start off with an introduction to best practices when working with python packages. virtualenv, pip, etc.

Then we'll try to dispel the confusion around python packaging. distutils, vs distutils2, vs setuptools, vs distribute, vs ...

We'll discuss how the confusion began, where the source of truth is, and what's the core devs are working on to help clear up the problem.

Couldn't make it due to wifey working some overtime. Hope it went well!

That's understandable. You came up in a couple conversations, so people were thinking about you. Maybe next time :)

You were missed. However, it's understandable.

I'm most concerned about making sure people feel welcome. Since you're one of the more naturally charming people I know, I'd appreciate it if you'd help me greet people and chat with them.

I just found out the room the REDI group is letting us use has cameras, and they're setup for streaming. I'm not going to try to figure out the streaming this month, but maybe next month we'll have the AV stuff sorted out. Then we'll be even cooler.
