Coffeeshop meetup #1: Saltstack

I would suggest a coffeeshop meetup!

A coffeeshop meetup would consist of a small group (10-15) of Pythonistas meeting and discussing and/or hacking on any subject relating to Python. The intention is to have a more frequent and more hands-on type of meetup than the[masked] person meetups we usually have.

The requirements is of course an environment that can host 10-15 people and has Wifi. Coffeeshops are well suited for this, but any other location meeting the requirements should do as well.

As for the first meetup, I suggest Saltstack (http://saltstack.org/) as topic. It is a infrastructure management tool that is written in Python and has pretty cool APIs for Python. I've been wanting to take a look at it, and checking it out with others that are interested seems like a good idea.

We don't have a location yet, so suggestions are very very welcome!

    CHANGE OF SPOT:
We will meet at the big coffe over the street. It's either a waynes or a espresso house. Good street view has a bus infront of it...

Can't join today. Too much work and rain. But please hold a presentation of Salt at the next meetup!

If we don't get that Hotel lobby to work, maybe we could go to your office nearby?

After looking around for a while, Rickard and I concluded that Hotell Adlon was probably the best fit. They are located just near the Central Station and they have a lounge where we can fit all of us. It's not a coffeeshop, but it's cozy, calm, and pretty guaranteed to be safe.

The actual coffeeshops we checked out were pretty stimmed with people to the degree that we might actually get problems to be the entire gang.

Anyhoo, should any problems arise, there are a couple of fallbacks in the area.

    See you all tomorrow!

As I've mentioned in the comments, I'll be going on a little expedition today to scout for locations. I'll be leaving from Fridhemsplan around 18.00. If anyone would like to keep me company, I'd be very glad. Leave a reply if you're joining!

Café String, nytorget, is quite spacious, they have a basement with lots of seating room that's usually empty since normal patrons prefer to sit at street level.

Great initiative! I've been playing with salt lately, but I'd like to dive a bit deeper and see what you guys think.

What about Café 60, Sveavägen 60 (T-Hötorget)? Lots of seats and power connectors. I never got the Wifi to work though.

I was actually just about to post that I was going to go on a little expedition to see if I could find any coffeeshops, and Café 60 was actually one of the items on my checklist.

Café 60 is very cozy, almost to the point of not being spacious at all. :> I'll check in, and if it's not a problem, I'll set the location later this evening!

Thanks! I hope it'll catch on so that we can have frequent Python gatherings of this sort!
