Fun talk! For those interested, here's the Text Processing in Python book Blaine mentioned: http://gnosis.cx/TPiP/. The combinatorial example in the first chapter is a pretty neat use of functions which return functions. (protip: stick the book in a markdown viewer to pretty up the plain text that the book is written in (stackedit.io is a good one)
