PyKC Monthly Meetup

Cerner will be providing food and drink this month, so please RSVP as soon as possible. We'll be starting at 6:30 to give everyone time to eat.

Itertools (MotM): Module of the Month is back! Madhurima Poddar will discuss the itertools module, why it's awesome, and how you should use it in your code.

Functional Web Testing Without Selenium (the Good, The Bad, and the Horrible):

Chip Warden will demonstrate using mechanize as an alternative to Selenium for functional web testing.

Lighting Talks:

We'd love to hear about what you're working on, something cool you've found, or even a problem you're having difficulty solving!

I wondered what made that meeting so special. I keep hearing the name Cerner come up in discussions but I still don't understand why a hospital supply company would need so many programmers. It was nice of them to supply the pizza though.

Hmm. I thought this would be obvious to anyone who visited Cerner's website, but NOWHERE on the page does it say anything about software. Even if you drill down to the "Solutions and Services" and the "About Cerner" pages, the word "software" is not used.

Although it doesn't say software, this might be a little more helpful to this discussion. http://cerner.com/sol...

I am looking to recruit people from PyKC to support a yearly F/LOSS + open knowledge conference in Lawrence. All are welcome. we will look for board members first, then an organizing team, and then speakers.

I'll never forget the look on Eban's face when he tried to eat those death wings after the meeting, priceless :)

Hey guys, wish I could have made. Was back in town to drop off the daughter at college, but traffic from Texas wasn't having any of it.

I was really looking forward to coming and meeting some fellow Pythonites, but my school is having Back To School Night at the same time, so I will be busy with my students' parents!

I'm likely to be a little late, but I'll try to make it before the food runs out....
