June Meetup

Join us for the monthly Python Users Group meetup! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced user, come and meet others and learn and share what you know.

This month we are having a joint meetup with the San Diego Amazon Web Services User Group (SD AWS UG).

Speaker: Jon Gallagher

Jon Gallagher has worked in startups, large corporations, small companies, and everywhere else making systems and networks run. He has found that the combination of open source tools, freely available (and cheap) cloud computing resources, and the continuous flow of great ideas represent the biggest playground anyone could dream of.

Summary

boto is a python interface that is intended to encompass all Amazon Web Services. The interface currently directly supports SQS, S3, EC2 (including ELB, CloudWatch, and Auto-Scaling), Mechanical Turk, SimpleDB, CloudFront and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). All other AWS services can be access via the boto through the AWS API. Boto is also the generic name in Portugese for dolphins native to the Amazon river region.

I would agree with Marian but those of us in the back had trouble hearing and couldn't read a thing. Not sure there is an answer to that limitation of the space but something to think about.
