I had to leave early, but I was really enjoying Young's presentation.

I made a comment on how Pandas was diverging from being built on NumPy, here's a quick link to the relevant part of the pandas 0.13 docs where they explain that no pandas object is anymore a subclass of NumPy's ndarray: http://pandas.pydata.org/pandas-docs/stable/whatsnew.html#whatsnew-0130-refactoring They still work very nicely together, though, and I am sure they will make every effort to keep it that way.

Hi Jaime. I should have paid more attention to what you said at the talk! Just yesterday I had a major crash of my code because some of the systems at work upgraded to pandas 0.13. In my code, I had implicit conversion between pandas series to numpy arrays which no longer work when pandas.Series stopped subclassing ndarray. As soon as I realized this I remembered what you said!

I enjoyed both presentations. I've put together a doc with links that I have found helpful for git. Please feel free to add your favorites and pass along:

I loved the intro to Git. I took CodeSchool's intro today as well :) It went over some of the same commands. I'm going to start using Git :) Thank you!

Any tips on how to find parking? Any side streets or other areas which are safe to park at?

Just attending udacity 'intro to data science' course and getting used to pandas. Sounds exciting :)

Looking forward to meeting all of you... And be gentle I'm kind of a Python newbie. If it were a spoken language I would probably be like a 4 year old and I can read a lot better than write :-P

Hi I'm taking some free classes at the SDCCE at their North City campus which looks great. So I won't be going to any meetings for a while.
