Hi Jim,
Quilling starts with long strips of paper that are rolled up and then shaped. Traditionally, there are lots of flowers, butterflies, and miniatures. I have taken more of a contemporary spin on the craft using larger paper and no patterns. Take a sneak peak at my work on www.facebook.com/jquills.
