Hi Craig and JVMers,

I am interested in organising this meetup group in Brisbane. I think it's a valuable session, and would be a shame for it to be disbanded. Thanks so much for you work in helping it thrive until now.

I work for Red Hat in Brisbane, and know of a few people in our office I could convince to do a talk for the group if it was more conveniently  located for us. I think we would be able to host the meetup in our office near Roma St occasionally, as long as it was agreeable for the rest of the group.

I really like the idea of co-hosting the group with other members, so that we could cast our net wider, and find more people interested in participating. I would appreciate meeting with you Craig, and any others to discuss a plan for hosting the group.

Additionally, I would like to offer a talk on the Apache messaging project, ActiveMQ, at the March meetup. I'll check with our office manager, but we might be able inaugurate the Red Hat office as a venue for the talk.

Regards
Jason Shepherd

HI,

Having been an organizer of the Brisbane lunchtime meetup for a few years now, I've decided the time has come for me to stand down and let someone else have a go. The main reason is that I'm now based mostly on the Gold Coast for work, so lunchtime meetups in Brisbane are difficult for me to commit to, but I also think that new leadership will inject new life to the group as well.

If you are interested in taking over the group, please reply to the list or e-mail me directly. Ideally we'll get a few volunteers that can form a team and share the burden.

We also don't have a speaker for the March meetup in a couple of weeks. If you something you want to share with the group, please let me know.

Craig.
