Welcome to QS Show&Tell V. Please come and bring your enthusiasm for self-tracking and self-experiment. You and your graphs, spreadsheets, biometric devices, practical solutions and crazy notions are all welcome. As before, we will have a social/networking hour from 6 pm to 7 pm, followed by a series of short presentations. You can sign up to present when you arrive, but if you know you have something to show please email in advance, so we have an idea of what to expect.
We are meeting at The SF Writer's Grotto courtesy of David Duncan. David is a QS member who has made an amazing tour of personal metrics and personalized medicine in the course of researching his book, Experimental Man. The book has just been released, and the invite to what is sure to be a very fun and interesting San Francisco launch party on March 19th is here.
“ Some of the smartest, curious, generous and quirky (well, in some cases downright eccentric) people I've met in a long time. All of the presentations gave me insights and I am following up with 3 re my book. + I was one of two who signed up to help "hospitality" next time yet could not find Gary to confirm + get David's book. Gary I'll indeed help "set up" at the next meeting. ”
“ If only the Show & Tell presentations when I was in elementary school had been like these ones! What an amazing, inspiring, and approachable group of people. ”
“ Very interesting presentations. The shmooze before the formal discussion was even more stimulating, which attests to the great group involved.
I think talks should be limited to 7 minutes, with 3 overtime for Q&A. There really wasn't a problem with that last night, but I do think tight time limits focus the mind. ”
