Queer and Trans Donation Pilates Mat

What: Bringing queers together to pump some endorphins. This class is intended to be a safe environment for queer, trans, gender queer and gender variant folks to practice Pilates together. This class does not focus on body image or weight loss. Rather we will work to develop more pain-free posture and movement patterns by increasing strength, stability, and flexibility. Everyone should feel free to participate as much as they like and take breaks whenever needed for whatever reason. Everyone should aim to create a positive, supportive environment for each other. Class might sometimes be followed by some light socializing at the cafe next door.

Cost: This class is donation based ($9 suggested). Please bring yourself regardless of your ability to pay. Please contribute what you can to keep this class going.

FYI: (Note: This class is taught by a cis white queer woman. It is my intention to create a safe space for everyone who wants to practice Pilates. If you are unsure if this class will be right for you, feel free to send me a message with questions.)

-create a comfortable and supportive environment for folks who experience discomfort and disphoria in body-focused environments
-decrease pain and discomfort in every day activities
-increase strength, flexibility and stability
-financially accessible
-develop positive, supportive queer community while we pump some endorphins!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
