Medicine Buddha

21st August 2010, 10:30 - 16:00, at Amrita Dzong

Please being a packed lunch. There will be a £10 donation, which will go help run Amrita Dzong

I spent two and a half years meditating and working in the Buddhist retreat centre "Marpa House". This gave me the chance to receive teachings, guidance and support from an enlightened Tibetan master and gain insight and an understanding of the Buddha’s teachings.

Karrim teaches very well and learnt alot about the medicine buddha and how can use it in healing. There was a big group of us and it was great to practice teh Puja together and meditate together.

The teaching subject was great however the man teaching it came across as a bit of a poser and was doing his own thing during the mantra and seemed to be acting out cleansing his heart without instructing others to do the same, he also put on a fierce staring into space face which is hardly conducive to teaching others . I felt as if he was showing how good he was as opposed to teaching how we she be and instructing how he was cleansing himself. He did talk through what he was doing beforehand but as a teacher to just go off and act like this without including everyone too was showing off and not at all humble which surely is where the basis of Buddhism lies.
