What made you interested in raw foods?

I was already vegan for 4 years before learning about raw nutrition. Animal rights was the original driver for me to change my diet, though I wanted to be a healthy vegan. Raw food is another world entirely where enzymes play a key role in nutritional value. I also learned about various exotic fruits of which I'd never heard before going raw and changed my pallette in a more adventurous direction.

What are your health and fitness goals?

To maximize my physical and mental vitality while minimizing sickness. I find more endurance when jogging, hiking or engaging in any other rigorous physical activity since going raw than I ever imagined in high school.

What is your favorite fruit and why?

Durian, so long as it's pitch ripe and free of invaders (ie. fungus, larvae). I relish its creamy resemblance to vanilla custard and it's a versatile sweet fruit that can be meshed into a variety of creative desserts.

I've been vegan for 19 years and went raw over 10 years ago initially be serendipity. I try to live lightly on the Earth, maximize my health and enjoy preparing raw dishes along with adventure activities.
