Limerock Park Team 90-minute Endurance Race (No experience required)

Details (coming soon on this site):

http://endurancekarting.com/index.php/ek-schedule/ek-schedule/details/115-LRP15s

Pricing: $450 split among drivers among team - typically 2 or 3. Its a bit pricey compared to F1 but the karts are absolutely the best you will drive. They are only driven in endurance races and maintained meticulously, thus leading to some really close racing!! Every reluctant person I have dragged there, has loved it and gone back.

If you are interested just reply yes to this meetup and answer the question about how many drivers you would like to be with in the team. No experience necessary - come out and have fun in a beautiful place with club races on around you on the big track.

More details on their main site:

Great fun yesterday. Again big thanks to Bjoddi for organizing and making awesome pit signs. And thanks Jack for driving

You guys did really well with your times. Quick learners!

Anyone else finding setting up an account on this wacky mylaps.com site to be an absolute nightmare??
I keep getting all sorts of `authentication failed' messages. Plus, isn't a 36 digit access code a tad insane?? Anyone from EK have a better way for us to get lap results? This system is nuts!

    May 18, 2014

    • JonasG

Let me know if you still have problems- I can send it to you via email.

      May 19, 2014

    • Jack M.

Finally managed to get our lap times, Jonas. Thanks.

      May 19, 2014

Does anyone of you know where we can download the lap times of yesterday's race?

      Thanks Bob

      Thanks Bob and Bodi!

Ok gang, just a reminder that EK races n the rain( unless we have lightning/thunder or track is completely flooded). In which case we will attempt to wait out any occasional downpours, etc and then re-continue. Weather all weekend looks like could have spotty showers(you regulars know how that is in the hills over there). Best to bring some extra clothes for afterwards as well as rain gear if you have it( 40 gallon plastic trash bags count as well). See you Saturday.

Bjoddi, only six days to Limerock...wooohooo... can't wait! Question: Logistics. Maybe we should try to coordinate time to leave and carpooling? Looks like we have 8 ppl in total, you, Jack, Jonas, Jacob, myself, and three other buddies. BTW I am willing to rent a car if needed.

    May 11, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Let me start an email thread. Ways you can add Jonas and Jacob to the thread. We won't have to rent cars, pretty sure

      May 11, 2014

  • Ways

Bjoddi, I will confirm by Sunday/Monday size of team my buddies are looking for. I'll send them an e-mail and ask them to join the meet up group for details and pay on the site directly. More to come in a couple of days, and hopefully "paid confirmations" :)

    April 11, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Thanks Ways! Hoping to get 3 RMG teams this time.

      April 11, 2014

    • Jacob

      Ways,
Let's put a big effort in finding a place to watch The Spanish GP and I can give you a check there for my spot

      May 8, 2014

  • Bjoddi

Hi Jacob - don't know if you got my email or not - but I was wondering if you would prefer a 2 person or 3 person team ?

    May 6, 2014

    • Jacob

      Or three person team

      May 7, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Hi Jacob- you will be in a 3 person team with Ways. Can you contact him regarding payment. One of his team mates in his 3 person team has a conflict - so you will be paying that person directly for taking his spot

      May 7, 2014

  • Bjoddi

As soon as you have a team - please sign up for the race here. Jack and me have already signed up and gotten a spot.

    Here is the link:
    http://procup.mycustomevent.com/ShoppingCart.aspx?com=detailview&iid=659&cid=330

You can sign up individually or one person can pay for the entire team and then collect money from his team members. You should pay as 1 of a team of 3 drivers if you are paying individually. The system will eventually ask for your team name. Its not critical that you decide the team name now. Put a placeholder - but make sure all members of your team use the same team name placeholder. Jack and me used RMG-1 for now (we are not creative individuals). You guys can use RMG-2, RMG-3 and change it on the day of the race. The team name is used to tie in your individual payments and reserve a team spot.

    Mandatory Equipment :
    Helmet ($10 rental)
    Gloves ($5 rental)
    Neck collar ($5 rental)

Racing suit - jeans and a tough jacket/leather on top works. No need for a full suit.

    April 21, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Also wanted to say - they are pretty relaxed outfit. If you are not sure whether some equipment you have will pass - don't pay for it ahead of time. Just show up at the track and see if they will let you race with your gear. If not you can rent on the spot

      April 21, 2014

  • Bjoddi

btw if you guys join wheel to wheel karting meetup - you can get a 10% discount.

    April 16, 2014

    • Bjoddi

I'll try and work some discount however, since we have always fielded some team at EK and this time we are going with 3

      April 21, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Regarding discounts - you guys should sign up first and we can work the discounts afterwards - don't want to lose spots for a possibly non-existent discount

      April 21, 2014

  • John L.

    Sorry, wedding that day... booooooo!

I just want to echo what Bodi posted a while ago about the Endurance Karting karts. I believe they use the same Honda engines as the F1 karts (speeds are roughly the same), but they are Sodi karts instead of Rimos. More importantly, they are super well maintained, and thus are very evenly matched. HUGE kart variability is something we RMG members were getting more and more aggravated with at F1 Boston - especially at enduros where you could be stuck with a clunker for 15-20 minute track stints. Also, in the rare event of a breakdown (we had one at Lime Rock last year), Endurance Karting is amazingly fair in compensating a team for track time lost in exchanging karts. If you've ever had to do that at F1 (as we HAVE!), you know that can be a real problem.

  • Bjoddi

One more thing - the races are at 9AM, 12 PM and 3 PM. We are shooting for the 3PM race. We have to be there by 2 ideally.

    April 10, 2014

  • Ways

Amazing, I am definetly in! I would be down for a team of 3.

    April 5, 2014

    • Bjoddi

I haven't asked for payment yet :) First we decide on the teams via email - double check the headcount - then each one of you guys can go and sign up on the site independently. You don't have to pay me or go through me

      April 10, 2014

    • JonasG

      Ok, great!
      Thanks for organizing Bodi!

      April 10, 2014

  • Jack M.

No Deepak, Luff, Zombeck or Bendor?

    April 10, 2014

    • Bjoddi

No - none of the regulars except you and me. I'll check with John Luff - he somehow doesn't stay on top of the meetup board updates

      April 10, 2014

  • Bjoddi

Many of you have RSVPed with +1 guest - I want to double check that is true. So I want to take a headcount again of who is coming:

    Bodi
    Jack
    Ways
    Ways' friend 1
    Ways' friend 2
    Jonas

Is the headcount correct so far? Ways if you could confirm with your friends and then reply - that will be great. No rush on this.

    April 10, 2014

    • Bjoddi

      I meant to put
      Ways
      Ways friend 1
      Ways' friend 2
on separate lines - but somehow they got merged

      April 10, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Ways - could you also let me know whether your friends want to form a 2-person or 3-person team?

      April 10, 2014

  • Jack M.

I'm still in, Bodi. And I'll team with anyone, though I prefer a 2 man team (to justify the ride there). Also, I agree, the afternoon race is best so we can leave at a reasonable time.

    April 10, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Yep - no worries you will have a 2 man team :)

      April 10, 2014

  • Bjoddi

Btw, don't worry about team sizes too much. Even if we have 2 people in a team, endurance karting can match us up with a third person. He will be outside our group but at least we'll pay less.

    April 6, 2014

  • Jack M.

I'm definitely IN, Bodi, and prefer a 2 man team (maybe you and me, as we did last year?). I'm in VA with the kids/grandkids (again) from 4/8 to 5/12. I planned this spring trip to be back for the 5/17 Lime Rock race. If you're setting teams up, just let me know whom to send my $225 to. I'll offer to drive from Boston again, and can fit 4 in my car. Hope things are going well with the new baby & house.

    April 4, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Thanks Jack ! Its great you are in and thanks for offering to drive. I would love to race with you in a team but lets see who else is interested. If there are people new to the track, I will race with them and let you form a team with the faster guys. Will keep you updated.

      April 4, 2014

  • Indiana J.

I'd be interested in this. How much track time do you typically get at one of these?

    April 4, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Its 90 minutes of racing plus maybe 10 minutes practice - all times divided by number of people. So in a 3 person team you are going to get about 30 minutes + 3 minutes of practise

      April 4, 2014

    • Bjoddi

Also these karts are about 10x better than F1 - so don't compare track time to F1. Many of us have learned much better with this racing outfit because of their consistently tuned karts
