This Utah canoe trip is an unforgettable odyssey!
Canoe 120 miles (9 Days ) down the Green River to the confluence of the Colorado River. This trip is on flat water (no rapids) through Canyonlands National Park. Experience the same trip the Powell Expedition did in 1870. Hike the canyons, see Anasazi Indian ruins, camp on sandy beaches, swim, fish or just cool off in the river.
Leave OC; Sat 8/10
River Dates; 8/12 Launch from Green River Utah
8/21 Pick up Spanish bottom on the Colorado River by Jet Boat.
Costs for River Trip;
River trip $150.00 per person shuttle fee from launch to pick up by Jet Boat at Spanish Bottom on the Colorado River.
National Park Permit Fee 25.00
Canoe rental if needed 17.00 Per day per person.
Free Stay in House near Moab with group

Food Cost for Group and toilet rental, is 10.00 per day per person.
Leave Orange County Sat 8/10. Carpool to Mesquite Nevada (approx. 6 hr drive) and spend the night in Mesquite (Gambling and Buffets). Arrive in Moab Utah Sun. (approx. 7 hr drive). Group dinner Sun. evening to meet and discuss trip. Stay at local motel or my house. Meet at the outfitter Mon. 8/12 at 8am. Load boats and equipment on trailer for ride to Crystal Geyser launch site on the Green River.
Paddle 5 days down river to Mineral bottom. Paddle about 4 to 5 hrs a day taking breaks through out (swimming, fishing, and hiking). Camp on sandy beaches.
Paddle 4 more days down to the confluence of the Colorado and Green River. Pick up Wed. 8/21 by jet boat at Spanish bottom on the Colorado River. Arrive back at the outfitter at 4 pm. Celebration group dinner.
Drive home Thurs or Fri.

Meals will be provided.
Breakfast – will be quick meals, i.e., oatmeal, granola, dry fruit, packaged juices, bagels
Lunches – Sandwiches, crackers, fruit
Dinner – evening meals will be hot (social cooking!!)
Drinks – water, juice, “Kool-aid mix”, coffee, tea
NOTE: YOU WILL NEED 1-GALLON OF WATER PER DAY PER PERSON. PLAN ON BRINGING SUITABLE CONTAINERS TO FILL IN MOAB. 1 OR 2-GALLON PLASTIC JUGS WORK BEST FOR STORAGE IN THE BOATS. NO GLASS PLEASE.
Snacks – you will need to bring our own snacks (nothing in “group” coolers!) for your personal consumption during the day. We recommend trail mix, dry fruit, candy, crackers, beef stick, jerky, etc. If you want cold snacks or drinks, you will need to bring a small personal cooler.
General - Weather is always an unknown factor – we recommend “2-season” clothing, i.e., quick-drying shorts, t-shirts and long pants/sweatshirt.
Water sandals or shoes, Hiking shoes or boots
Swimsuit or water shorts, Hat (sun protection)
Gloves (for paddling), Rain Gear (it will rain)
Sunglasses, DEET (Bug Repellant), Sun Screen Lotion, chapstick, Hand Lotion, Towel, Toiletries & personal med’s (we recommend biodegradable soap & shampoo – it’s river bathing!!)
Tent, Rain fly and Ground cloth, Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Flashlight
Eating Utensils, Plate, Bowl, Drinking Mug,
Personal Water Bottle (in-canoe use), Dry Bag (for clothes, etc)
