Canoe Black Canyon, Explore Hot Springs, Hike Canyons, Camp Under the Stars!

Leave on Fri Nov. 23rd

Drive via carpools to Boulder City, Nevada and check into Hacienda Hotel.

Hacienda Hotel costs: $59.95 per room (Please make your own room reservation. Booking online saves you 20%.)

Put on the River Sat Nov. 24
The outfitter we drop us of at the back side of Hover Dam. We will canoe Black Canyon, Explore Hot Springs, Hike Canyons, Camp Under the Stars! We will explore Gold Strike Canyon, Lone Palm Canyon, and Arizona Hot Springs where we will camp and do additional hiking.

Sun. Nov. 25 Final day of paddling takes us to Willow Beach where we be shuttled back to the Hacienda Hotel, approximately 1 pm.

The permits to launch from the bottom of the dam are hard to come by because they go so fast! So in order to hold your spot you must pay a $20 Deposit permit fee at the time you sign up. Non-refundable!

We will cook together as a group while on the river, pre-planning meals prior to trip. Food Cost: $10 per person per day.

NOTE TO PADDLERS: Black Canyon contains some moving flat-water, but no whitewater.

Besides the usual--tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, basic clothing,  Sun hat • Sunglasses • Sunscreen and lip balm • Gloves (not only for warmth if necessary but for paddling) • Headlamp •  Swimsuit • Rain gear • Water shoes • Extra shoes for hiking • Extra socks • Warm layers (The desert can get chilly at night.) • Beach/camp chair • Long-sleeved shirt (for sun protection) • Rope to tie things down in the boat and to tie the boat up • Dry bags and/or heavy duty trash bags • Camera • Towel

    Hope we can all meet at the Hotel for diner at about 7 pm
    I bought most of the food , need to still pick a few things up.
    lunches - ham or turkey sandwiches Diner- chili and fruit salad
    Breakfast- fruit and instant hot cereal
    Bring your own coffee if you want it.
    Bring 2 gallons of water, cup , fork, knife
    I will have a 2 burner stove, 2 dutch ovens, and paper plates
    Food cost should be about 10. or 11. per person.
