Page 2: About Our Group

Under Construction

We are over 100 members and growing. While most of our members have shown interest in Brazilian Portuguese, we welcome anyone insterested in Brazilian Portuguese or European Portuguese.

We meet at Panera Bread-Crabtree every other Thursday at 7pm and on Saturday mornings we walk at a local park and then go have breakfast for more conversation.

Typically I or another member create an activity for the group to focus on for the Thursday evening meetups. A visit to our Files Section on the left, provides some of the previous activities we've introduced to the group. Saturday mornings is freestyle and we talk about whatever comes up. While we try to stay in Portuguese, we often drift back and forth between Portuguese and English. This has been a difficult hurdle to overcome. Some of our members are trying to improve their English, so Saturday mornings are a great opportunity for a Language Exchange.

We have welcomed people who are traveling from Brazil to the U.S as temporary members. They seem to enjoy the familiarity while being so far from home. I hope that more Portuguese Speakers traveling to our city find our group and join in the fun.
