In the tradition of QS show and tells, this meeting will be structured as follows:
6:30 - 7:00PM - free socializing time, FREE DINNER (I'm considering catering from Med Deli and fruit juice for drinks).
7:00 - 8:00PM - quick presentations on people's ongoing projects.
For the second meeting, since I assume most folks don't know one another or the group yet, I will be keeping things moving with a 10 minute presentation entitled "How I Reduced my Commute Time by 12%" It features hard data on more than a year's worth of commuting statistics and should be relevant to anyone commuting in the Triangle Area.
If you'd like to talk about your personal self-tracking project, please let me know in your RSVP so we can discuss your topic and how much time you'll need. In your talk, you should answer three principal questions: What did you do? How did you do it? What did you learn?
If you've never been to a QS meetup before, you can get a sense of what the talks are like from watching videos of previous QS talks. (These are pretty fancy and professional, we don't record the talks as yet, but we will have two projectors and a computer to drive them.)
We won't be doing Ignite presentations, for now we're just interested to hear about any projects you've been working on, and the format isn't important.
Special thanks goes out to Caktus Consulting for providing the space for the meetup and offering to help with the food bill for refreshments.
