SCI-FI Geeks Annual Spring Cookout

It's that time of year when the weather gets better and it is Spring!  We will have our annual Spring cookout at Anderson Point Park in East Raleigh. This cookout is a potluck so please tell us what type food that you are bring to the cookout in the comment section. You can also bring board games, cards or any other outdoor games too. I am planning on bring horse shoes and volleyball.
Please also donate $5.00 to help with the cost of the shelter and also running the Meetup group. Hope that we will have some good Spring weather to put some burgers and dogs on the grill for our cookout.

For this event, everyone should bring your own meat and bun/bread. $5 will be just enough to cover the cost of the shelter/charcoal.  Mandy and I will bring  the plates since we still have them from the game nights.
Each person/couple should bring one side dish to share with the group. Please post what you will bring as early as possible to avoid duplication.

Hope that I can make this. In the event that I can't, I'll volunteer for something like drinks (not sodas).

Don't bring alcohol to the park.I don't have a permit for that and I don't want to pay extra money just for that.

Who said anything about alcohol? I was thinking fruit juice, Kool-Aid, or something else that people wouldn't miss.

One thing that I forgot to mention is that part of the donation is also for the meat to cook on the grill. If you can donate just a few bucks not just one dollar that would be great to help with the cost of the whole cookout.

Brian, sounds like a great idea! Quick question. Is everyone bringing their own burgers and dogs as well, or are we taking up a collection for them as well?

Unless there are a bunch of people (10+?), I think it's more practical that it's BYO meat & buns and have one person bring the plates/eating tools/napkins/condiments (paid for out of the kitty).
Also, I see the park shelters don't have power. So if we want tunes, we need a volunteer to bring a boom box.
