Science Trivia Night

What does H2O mean or what is the closest planet to Earth? Come and find out with many other questions to be answer at the Museum of Natural Sciences Science Trivia Night. Every first Thursday of the month the museum has science trivia at the Daily Planet Cafe. You do not half to be a science geek to join just come and have a fun time. But if you are a science geek then this might something for you to enjoy and also help out the group. Just please do not use your smart phone  or tablet to help out the group or might get kick out. But come and have a wonderful time.

Science Trivia starts at 7pm but please be there before that time since seating is very limited. Also please update your RSVP if anything changes on you so I can get a head count on how many chairs to save at a table.

If anyone is interested, EA Poe book refenenced last night is available for free from http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/2149
The title is "NARRATIVE OF A. GORDON PYM". I think a longer title was given last night. My favorite question was the "Back off man, I'm a scientist." quote for which we had to give the name of the speaker.

That's great news. Congratulations, everyone. I'd like to hear about the questions and teamwork. Were there any outstanding moments like "What can brown do for you?" from our last competition? Did they ask about antarctic ice/gravity story or the sailback dinosaur?

What were the five missed questions?

WOOOOHOOOO! We finally won! Plus, we won with a score of 25, 4 points more than the 2nd place team!!!! Thanks so much to everyone in attendance tonight, and especially our newcomers, Lynn with her daughter Aiden and Greg from the Science Minded Social meetup group. My friend Tracey and I had a BLAST! Only sorry that Mark couldn't be there, but he had a good reason.

Everyone passed their tests and we (the testing committee) got to 'mess with' the highest ranking tester. Good potluck food and beverages followed. My guac was a hit.

Ugh! Mark, it will be much harder for us to place within the top 3 without you...hope your plans change and that you can join us! We've been number 3 too many times, it's time for our group to get one of the prizes!

      Always a bridesmaid...

Unfortunately, they've scheduled testing at the dojo Thursday. If they'd been lower ranking belts, I'd have been at NCMNS. These are advanced students, so I need to be there.
