The movie was good for a 1960's classic. Love the old vintage educational films they show before the main movie.

Does anyone know anything about the family friendliness of the movies? My daughter is 10 and my son is 6.

In general, all the movies they show are "family friendly" in that they don't have any inappropriate language or scenes (most made in the 50s and 60s). Sometimes they can be scary. Generally the special effects are so awful that they're more funny than frightening for kids today. Tonight's movie is appropriate for a ten year old but may not be for a 6 year old although I do expect to see children that young there. There are no bloody deaths but there are deaths. If you would let him watch the original Dracula with Bela Lugosi then I don't think he would have a problem with this film. Watch the trailer on tcm.com, it is about as scary as it gets.

Thanks for the feedback! We may just skip out on this meetup and I'll come to another one on a day when the kids are with their dad. I don't think they'll have a problem with the movie, the problem may be getting my boy to sit still and be quiet. Thanks!

It's a very good movie. It plays on TCM occasionally. It's next scheduled to show on Saturday, April 27 at 4:45 pm. The British title was "Quatermass and the Pit". It got renamed when it was shown in the US. Julian Glover plays a role and he appeared in the Doctor Who episode "City of Death" with Tom Baker as the Doctor.

More importantly, he's also General Veers (Star Wars) and Grand Maester Pycelle (Game of Thrones)!

The movie they are showing is "Five Million Miles to Earth", quite an excellent choice!! . View the trailer here: http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi3919380761/
