Meetup Description: What: The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter
Every Friday, 6?8pm the North Carolina Museum of Art offers live music, a selection of fine wine and microbrews, and guided tours. We'll be mixing it up with special themes, curator's choice tours, and family nights. You may want to arrive early enough to enjoy the entertainment before the movie and to purchase your ticket early because movies do sell out!

A deaf-mute rents a room in the home of a sensitive teenage girl, and through her becomes enmeshed in a community of damaged souls, including an alcoholic and a black doctor struggling both with racism and estrangement from his daughter. Arkin and Locke (in her film debut, with her days as Clint Eastwood?s heroine still in her future) both received Oscar nominations. (1968) Directed by Robert Ellis Miller. lan Arkin, Sondra Locke, Stacy Keach.
Novelist Jill Mc Corkle (July 7th, Carolina Moon) will introduce this moving, and almost forgotten adaptation of Carson McCullers?s novel.
