Shin-Nen-Kai (Japanese New Year's Celebration)

From the Nippon Club of the Triangle:

The time for the annual Shin-nen-kai (Japanese new year's celebration) has come again. We are holding the celebration on January 19th at the Duke Gardens.

Please come and enjoy the wonderful Japanese traditional cuisine and the various fun events such as Kagamiwari (ceremonial opening of casks of Sake), Mochitsuki (pounding Mochi, rice cake), Kiyari-Uta (traditional Japanese work song), Koto (Japanese harps), Taiko (Japanese drums), and so on.

Date/Time : Sunday, January 19th, 12:30-3:30pm (Check-In starts at 12:15pm)
Place : Doris Duke Center at Sarah P. Duke Gardens
Participation fee : $40/person (in advance); $50 at door

There is a limit of 120 seats. Tickets will be available until all seats are filled or until January 12th, whichever comes first.

Adults only and attire should be business casual. No Jeans are allowed, Jacket is required.

Tickets: $40.00/person (in case of advanced payment)

On site ticket will be $50.

    Please note the dress code for this event. Also, the price of the event does include a catered meal from the owner of Waraji, dessert, and sake. You will not go home hungry!
