Academy Award® winners Sandra Bullock (“The Blind Side,” “The Proposal”) and George Clooney (“Up in the Air,” “Syriana”) star in “Gravity,” a heart-pounding thriller that pulls you into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.  The film was directed by Oscar® nominee Alfonso Cuarón (“Children of Men”).

Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring.  But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes.  The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue.  As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.

But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

“Gravity” was written by Alfonso Cuarón & Jonás Cuarón.  Alfonso Cuarón and David Heyman (the “Harry Potter” films) are the film’s producers.  Chris deFaria (“Happy Feet Two”) Nikki Penny (“Clash of the Titans”) and Stephen Jones (“Knowing”) served as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes team includes multiple Oscar®-nominated cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (“Children of Men,” “The New World”); production designer Andy Nicholson (supervising art director “Alice in Wonderland”); editors Alfonso Cuarón and Mark Sanger (VFX editor “Alice in Wonderland”); and costume designer Jany Temime (the “Harry Potter” films).  The effects were handled by Oscar®-nominated visual effects supervisor Tim Webber (“The Dark Knight”) and Oscar®-winning special effects supervisor Neil Corbould (“Gladiator”).  The music is by Steven Price (“Attack the Block”).

Warner Bros. Pictures presents an Esperanto Filmoj/Heyday Films production, an Alfonso Cuarón film, “Gravity.” Opening October 4, 2013, it will be released in 3D and 2D and IMAX®, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.

Please change from 2 passes to 1 pass unless you are bringing a friend.  Thank you!

Please remember to arrive early. Seats and screening passes are limited and are first come, first served.

Please leave all recording devices, including cell phones, in your vehicle or be prepared to check them with security for the duration of the screening.

Thanks in advance and see you there!

  • I would recommend you get to the theater early because if you don't you may not get a seat. Hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity to see a FREE advanced screening. You'll need to create a GOFOBO account to get your tickets. :)

GRAVITY (http://gravitymovie.warnerbros.com/) is a real-nailbiter, set in an airless, soundless void. If you have a fear of tight spaces, suffocation, and/or fire, you had better wait for the DVD, so can pause it before you hyperventilate -- and then start watching again when your pulse is back in normal range.

Sandra Bullock will probably get an Oscar nomination for her compelling fish-out-of-water performance as a physician-turned-astronaut who must dodge terrifying showers of lethal space debris every 90 minutes, while trying to make her way safely to an abandoned Russian space station, which may still have an operational escape capsule.

    Don't miss it!

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie! The special effects, the drama, the views of earth and of course Bullocks strength. Sorry George! I loved the 3d, it made the drama even more intense. There was one scene that came in so tight on Bullocks character that we eventually came into her space helmet. Excellent buildup.

There is still at least one online contest active for GRAVITY tickets, and there will probably be other sources of tickets before the screening date. So, don't give up.

I'll be at the screening, and I usually serve as a middleman for my subscribers who have extra tickets and other subscribers who have none -- until about 6:30 p.m. or whenever the line starts to move.

TIP: The early bird gets the extra tickets. So, plan to arrive between 5:30 and 6:00. The later you show up, the less chance you have of scoring a ticket.

let's say the theater holds 200 people... *IF* you are one of the first 200 people who have passes, you can enter the theater. If you don't have a pass, you could be person #1 and you get sent home :-)

Hi Lesley, they purposely give out more passes than there are seats available to insure a full house for the screening. So, there are two conditions to get in 1- you must have a barcoded pass and 2- you must be one of the people in the front of the line because once the seats are full as Eddie says, no one else gets in whether they have a pass or not. They start letting people in 1 hour before the screening and the line usually forms an hour before that so if the screening is at 7:30, it's best to be in line by 5:30.

If anyone has an extra pass, please chime in. Also there are usually extra passes floating around before the screening if you get there early enough.

There are at least two other ways ... so far ... to obtain passes to the Sept. 19th screening GRAVITY (which Rotten Tomatoes currently rates 94 percent FRESH, based on 32 reviews). I list both ways in the latest daily issue of the Triangle Arts and Entertainment Free-Film List. Weekly subscriptions are FREE to anyone who e-mails me at [masked] and types "FFL FREE" in the Subject: line. A monthly fee for daily updates -- and "instant alerts" whenever new codes or links are posted -- is less than the price of a single movie ticket. That's probably the best way not to get the dreaded "All passes have been taken for this RSVP Code" message whenever you try to sign up for a screening.

I'm getting an error message too. "You must enter a valid RSVP code". How do I get a "valid" code?
