_Building Applications as Plugins_

Rails gives us standard ways to handle the majority of situations. Given that Rails models all look and act the same, it should be easy to get two Rails apps to work together, but that often isn't the case. Even something as simple as adding a blog to an existing Rails app can be hard if you want to use a pre-existing blog application.

We'll walk through a method to build applications that interact with other applications nicely. These applications package themselves as plugins, so that they can be inserted into any Rails app without struggle, but make themselves customizable enough to work within any app.
