I've been hiking for over 20 years, and have hiked all 48 of the NH 4000 footers in both the summer and winter seasons. Some of my most favorite places include Bondcliff, Shelburne Moriah, Mt. Carrigain, the "chimney" between the two Osceola peaks and the Osgood Trail from the summit of Mt. Madison.
I do day hikes best. I'm not much of a backpacker; I enjoy long hikes, but prefer to be out of the woods at the end of the day.
I'm not a list keeper, especially having hiked the highest peaks, I just enjoy being out in the mountains. Even the same hike can deliver a new experience, or have some form of different character each time it is hiked.
Huntington Ravine Trail. Just plain steep, and there was still some snow on the trail which necessitated altering the route a bit.
Yes. I have led numerous multi-day cycling trips. I feel I have good knowledge of the mountains and would be interested in leading my own event with the Random Hikers.
My name is Steve Blum and I live in Bartlett, NH. I hike, bike and telemark ski on a regular basis depending on season and weather conditions. I am a dentist associated two days a week in Gorham, New Hampshire.
This was my first first meetup group and therefore my first hike as a Randomite. Everyone was warm and inviting to me and I felt early into the hike that I was with a group of friends with whom I had hiked often. This particular hike also exhibited excellent organization and leadership skills. I look forward to many more fun and delightful days!
