What is your hiking experience? (e.g. how long have you been hiking, how often do you get out , where are some of your favorite places, etc.)

Past experience includes Baxter State Park, Bryce Canyon, a dormant volcano in St. Kitt’s, and a rain forest in Panama. Since 2008, all of my experience has been in the Adirondacks: Crane, Moose, Hadley, Bald Head, Thompson's, Indian Head, Spruce, Tongue, Peaked, Blue Mtn, and Mt. Marcy and other assorted trails. So far, all of these are my favorite places.

What type of hikes do you like best? (e.g. day hikes, overnight backpacks, hikes that may involve off-trail "bushwhacking", etc.)

My experience is limited to day hikes/snowshoeing. Enjoyed bushwhacking, though I was not leading. No overnight backpacks yet, but interested.

What are your hiking goals? (e.g. just like hiking, enjoy being outdoors, looking to finish one of the "lists", etc.)

To meet like-minded enthusiasts, build my skills and confidence, and venture out to enjoy the wilderness as much as my schedule and budget will allow.

What is the most strenuous/difficult hike that you have done? What made it so tough?

Mt. Marcy, July 2011. From Upper Works Road, near Tahawus. 20.4 miles round trip in 12.5 hours, including lunch at the top and breaks. Rugged, rocky terrain. Spectacular day!

Do you have any outdoor leadership experience? Would you be interested in organizing and leading your own events with the Random Hikers??

Not just yet.

Hi, I enjoy being outdoors in any season, though I am partial to cooler weather. I love hiking and snowshoeing, and I am always astounded at the beauty of nature. I'd like to join this group to make friends to enjoy these activities with.
