August 30, 2011
I have been hiking for about 30 years, I have climbed most everything in New England in Winter, climbed Rainier & Adams in Washington State, climbed a few 4000m peaks in the Alps, been through the Grand Canyon. My absolute favorite hike is Little Haystack-Lafayette Loop, I like to leave work early, drive up for a 5PM start and come down with a headlamp.
Mostly longer dayhikes, but I like backpacking too
Probably my goals are the following: not repeating over the same path on the way down (spotted cars or loop is preferable) climbing over rocks and preferably ice at the summit
Most strenuous hike? For 2011 it would be doing a Presi Traverse in July, we did it in about 13 hours, I think it is 20 miles with about 8000 feet of elevation gain.
Yes, after I get a feel for how it works, that would be great. I have organized literally hundreds of hikes with friends.
Hi, I am a long time 4 season hiker of the mountains of New England and beyond. I am always up for a hike, really looking forward to the cooler weather coming this Fall and Winter. Looking forward to meeting people in the group. Jeff
