What is your hiking experience? (e.g. how long have you been hiking, how often do you get out , where are some of your favorite places, etc.)

I've completed the 67 highest peaks in NE and am on my way to completing the 100 highest. I have also done all NH 4k footers in the winter and some lesser in elevation. I would say my experience is pretty extensive in the Northeast-I've hiked in the snow, rain, heat with elevations in the[masked] range.

What type of hikes do you like best? (e.g. day hikes, overnight backpacks, hikes that may involve off-trail "bushwhacking", etc.)

Variety is the spice of life. I like most types, but I will have to say the bushwhacks are my least favorite. Although I do enjoy "sniffing out" a trail every so often. I just like to get out and enjoy the mountains.

What are your hiking goals? (e.g. just like hiking, enjoy being outdoors, looking to finish one of the "lists", etc.)

To hike as many places as my legs will bring me. My bucket list includes getting out to many of the National parks. I am working on different lists but am finding that it is more important to me to see new places. I love the Pemi Wilderness, but do not like crowds. My long-term goal is to do as many of the state high points as I can.

What is the most strenuous/difficult hike that you have done? What made it so tough?

The most difficult day hike was Humphreys Peak (12663 ft) with high winds, high altitude and a snow covered ridge. This is the only time when I felt that I would not be able to make it to the summit. I almost turned around with only 200 ft more to climb... but made it. I have also dabbled in long traverses to challenge myself. The one day Pemi-loop and Presidential Traverse were challenging but felt good to complete. I like long challenging hikes, but also like to tackle them as a backpack so as to enjoy the my surroundings.

Do you have any outdoor leadership experience? Would you be interested in organizing and leading your own events with the Random Hikers??

I have completed leadership training classes as well as Wilderness First Aid, so I believe I would like to use what I have learned in leading my own hikes.

Introduction

Hiking is my favorite thing to do. I have hiked all NE 4K footers, ADK 46 4k (working on second round). Looking to expand my hiking experiences to other areas, but enjoy the close proximity of the White Mts. Also enjoy leading trips.
