What is your hiking experience? (e.g. how long have you been hiking, how often do you get out , where are some of your favorite places, etc.)

I have been hiking regularly for the past 8 years. I did extensive hiking while living in Switzerland for 4 years. For the past 3 years I have enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains and try to hike 2-3 times/month. I have completed 36 of my 48 peaks.

What type of hikes do you like best? (e.g. day hikes, overnight backpacks, hikes that may involve off-trail "bushwhacking", etc.)

I like day hikes; I don't enjoy bushwhacking and have not done too many overnight backpacks, but would like to do more of those.

What are your hiking goals? (e.g. just like hiking, enjoy being outdoors, looking to finish one of the "lists", etc.)

To hike enough so that I can eat whatever I want! :-) Just to be outdoors and get exercise... hiking is my favorite activity.

What is the most strenuous/difficult hike that you have done? What made it so tough?

I have hiked up to 9000 ft in Switzerland, but one of my most difficult hikes was just recently, coming down off of Osceola. I had new boots and even though they were the same size as my old ones, I have developed osteo-arthritis in both of my big toes and coming down that day I felt like my toes were jamming in the front of the boot. That fact and the awful bugs that day made it a difficult hike!

Do you have any outdoor leadership experience? Would you be interested in organizing and leading your own events with the Random Hikers??

No
