Ashford Hall, a skilled nursing facility is designed to provide residents with the care and assistance needed to enjoy life. Volunteering at AH is unlike any other volunteer experience you have ever had. As a group, we enrich the lives of frail or isolated seniors and/or adults, through support and friendship, during friendly visits. We also provide music and Bingo game to the residents. This is a very kid friendly event. The residents love kids and dogs. If you are planning to bring your dog, please let me know or call the Manager at Ashford Hall.

Please bring a gift(s) for bingo prizes and indicate in your RSVP comment. Below is a list of what we need:


Stuffed Animals (they love these!)
Chocolate & Hard Candy (regular & sugar-free)
Colored Bags
White copy paper/Crayons/Markers (kids can draw something and give it to the seniors)
Baskets (to put items in)
Cookies/Crackers (individual package)
Fruits (bananas, grapes)
Cologne/Perfume (inexpensive)
Hair Brush/Combs
Prepaid Calling Cards
Quarters (for vending machine)
Crossword Puzzles/Games
Notes & Pens
Popcorn and Family DVD Movie
Baseball/Basketball hats
Shampoo/Conditioner

Right after the event, please join us at Mariscos 2000 for early dinner. It is located at 2053 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX. From Ashford Hall, turn left and take a right on W. Airport Fwy. Exit toward Loop 12. Take the Loop 12 North ramp. Exit on Northwest Hwy. Left on N.Walton Walker Blvd. Left on W. Northwest Hwy.

Come and join us.....let's spend a few hours with the seniors and meet other kind-hearted volunteers!

    Popular requests by the seniors are "quarters" for vending machine. Each soda pop costs about .75 cents. Please bring some if you can. Thank you!

    FYI - It gets too warm inside the atrium where we hold the Bingo Game, so please dress lightly.

    I haven't had time to inventory the stuff we still have from last month, but I know they went through most of the sodas. Two months ago they didn't drink that much, but last month, I chilled it before bringing it. So, canned sugar free and regular soda would be my suggestion for those who can't think of anything.
