I run a social group that is not meet up. If someone is a no show twice they are removed from the list. I send a nice "warning" after the first time.  Unfortunately there are so many meet ups that I don't always think people take it seriously, or they wait to see if something better shows up.

Hi Dawn. Welcome to life as a Meetup leader . I think this is a common problem unfortunately. I believe that one of my groups has a one strike and you're out arrangement. I'm not sure if I like that. For instance, 2 weeks ago I had a flat tire (and I can prove it!!) and had to wait for AAA. Meaning of course that poop happens. On the other hand, I doubt that 6 out of 7 people had totally legitimate reasons. Not much help, am I? How about one get out of jail free, then they're blocked, unless they can prove to you that something legitimate happened.

Hi all - So Yoga tonight was a filled MeetUp. But out of seven people who said yes, only one showed up. I understand things come up at the last minute, but people had wanted to come to this and couldn't because it was filled. I'm open to suggestions about how to handle this, because honestly - if I wanted to be blown off a lot, I'd be back in high school. Thoughts? Should I block people who say yes and then bail without notication?

The New Busy think 9 to 5 is a cute idea. Combine multiple calendars with Hotmail. Get busy.
