RE: [rawfood-191] Young Living Oils

Hi Alison,

As you know, I’ve been using Young Living essential oils since 2003, first personally and now in my Nutrition practice. While I am not in a position to comment about the quality of the other 2 essential oil sources you referenced as I have not used them personally, having spent time training with Gary Young on the Young Living Farms and attended conferences where Dr. HK Lin PhD and Dr. Mahmoud Suhail MD shared their clinical research updates on Frankincense and Sacred Frankincense oils to treat cancer, I can comment these oils not only simply smell nice but there has been scientific evidence and documentation of these oils’ efficacy and purity. Dr. Lin published two scientific papers to date on the effectiveness of Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense from Somalia) and Boswellia Sacra (Frankincense from Oman) for bladder cancer and breast cancer respectively. His research at Oklahoma Medical State U shows these essential oils’ ability to digest cancer cells while keeping the other cells healthy. This is the beauty of the innate intelligence inherent in essential oils properly preserved!

Earlier there was a discussion between me and Mirela-Cristina about a gentleman we helped to use Sacred Frankincense essential oil to shrink his ping pong size growth on his neck due to recurrent lymphoma. I saw the evidence of this with my own eyes. My team has had other positive results using Young Living’s Frankincense essential oil on melanoma and other skin issues.  More information about the Frankincense cancer research and testimonial available at

To fully appreciate the complexities of the essential oil distillation process which directly affect quality and outcome, I refer to Dr. Debra Raybern ND’s book “Gentle Babies: Essential Oils and Natural Remedies for Pregnancy, Childbirth and Infant Care” where the following example was noted:

“The majority of plant essential oils are obtained by steam distillation to release the plants’ precious oil. Young Living (YL) Essential Oils’ sophisticated and proprietary steam distillation process uses low heat, proper pressure, precise timing and course fresh, properly grown and harvested plants to deliver essential oils with quality and purity unmatched in today’s market.

Here is an example of the importance of precise timing during distillation. Cypress has 280 known chemical constituents, and all 280 constituents must be present for cypress to have medicinal and healing potency. If it is distilled for 20 hours only 20 of the 280 properties are released. If distilled for 26 hours none of the properties are released. Most cypress available on the US market is distilled for about three and a half hours. The correct length of time for distilling cypress is 24 hours, releasing all 280 properties.”

The Association for the International Research of Aromatic Science and Education (AIRASE) was formed last year to help raise the bar on both the research and education of essential oils  It is a worthwhile area of study.

I’ve attended workshops with two well respected Raw Food Chefs, Cherie Soria and Elaina Love, who love to use Young Living essential oils both personally and in their raw food recipes. My husband Ray and I have been enjoying adding Young Living essential oils to our food and drink to raise their vitality and vibrational frequency.

Best Regards,
