Vegan Discussion Group: Movie: EARTHLINGS

Note:  The Adama Management has asked me to tell all our members...that there is a 20% DISCOUNT for Dinner on Wednesday, 21 November for anyone who comes and has dinner "before the movie"!

Regards,  Rick

This movie is "not for the faint of heart" (it's pretty hardcore).

The first time I tried to watch it...I had to turn it off after 20 minutes - because I had to go and barf (not pretty - but that's the truth). It took me another 2 weeks before I managed to summon the courage to finish watching the movie.

This movie is one of the reasons that Ellen Degeneres became a vegan (watch the youtube clip where Ellen tells Katie Couric about it:

Where? Adama Vegan Restaurant, 428 Chapala Street, Santa Barbara, CA _

When? Wednesday, 21 November at 6:30 PM

Why? EARTHLINGS is considered the definitive animal
rights film by organizations around the world.
“Of all the films I have ever made, this is the one
that gets people talking the most,” said Phoenix.
“For every one person who sees EARTHLINGS,
they will tell three.”

Realistic, tough, and well done! A movie that everyone should watch, this might help...

Thank you Rick for hosting the movie. It left me with such profound sorrow that I had to go cry in my car. It's inspiring to see the other members there and know they're on a path of elevated choices and consciousness, but pondering the vast portion of the human populace choosing to dwell in ignorance or outright violence is a bit overwhelming.

Great idea right before Thanksgiving... It really reinforces my resolve to remain VEGAN for LIFE! I'll try to get my son (who is thinking about making the change) to join with and bring more friends along. THANKS!
