It's Potluck Time!! February Potluck

  • Feb 19, 2012 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Yay!! Our potlucks are back in business! We have potlucks scheduled for February, March, and April. (Please consider opening up your home, also, or perhaps hosting a potluck at a park or the beach.) In the meantime ...

This organic, raw, and vegan potluck will take place at the home of our gracious member, Edward. These are always times to meet friendly, intelligent and upbeat people who share your common interest in and love for raw and living foods.

Whatever your level of raw food expertise, you are encouraged to attend. Here is what is requested of you:

1. Please bring a raw, organic and vegan dish that will serve 10 to 12 people. If you don't feel confident about making a raw vegan dish, bring fresh fruit, raw crackers and dip, or a bagged salad. Don't stay away because you're not confident of your prep skills! PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING SERVING SPOON OR TONGS FOR YOUR DISH.

2. Bring your own plate/eating platter, eating utensils, cup, and napkin. We want to minimize clean up for our host and organizer.

3. Some of our members do not eat nutritional yeast, nama shoyu (Braggs aminos), tree nuts, agave, maple syrup, honey, etc for various reasons, so if you use these ingredients, please bring an ingredient list to place by your dish.

4. Please show up between 12:45 and 1:00 pm. After a short session of personal introductions during which we describe the dishes we have prepared/purchased, we will start eating promptly at 1.00 pm. You are welcome to show up later but the good dishes can go quickly!

The address is:

2169 W. Hiawatha Ave.Anaheim, CA 92804

Please be respectful and avoid being a "no show." If you change your mind about attending, go to the site and change your RSVP status. RSVPs will close the night before the potluck, so if you can't make it after all, you'll need to make that change then. As of Saturday night, we will be counting on you to show up -- and the host will be prepared for the number of people who RSVP "Yes."

Ed was a super host and a super raw food chef! He went above and beyond by preparing 5 or 6 dishes that were all delicious. We had a mouth-watering feast. Thank you, Ed!

Diane, just email me private and, if you're offering a place for it, we'll set it up. There's one scheduled in North Long Beach for March and one back in Orange County for April, but FOR SURE the LA/SouthBay people would love something closer.

I'm also going to miss this event (sadly!) but wonder how many folks would be interested in an event in the South Bay?

I'm going to be out of town, but I most definitely can have pot lucks at my place! I have a great big courtyard that is fantastic for events :)
