Dinner and a Movie!

You are invited for a special showing of "Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days." If you know someone who has diabetes, this is a must see film! It chronicles six Americans with diabetes who switch to a diet consisting entirely of vegan, organic, live, raw foods in order to reverse diabetes naturally. The participants are challenged to give up meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, soda, junk food, fast food, processed food, packaged food, and even cooked food - as well as go without their loved ones and many of their creature comforts for 30 days. The results are amazing! This is a raw vegetarian pot-luck, so feel free to bring your favorite raw vegetarian meal to share. We can have a great time together, share a fantastic healthy meal, and watch an informative film!

The movie was amazing because anyone who has knowledge of blood sugar levels, i.e. as a diabetic or caring for a diabetic, will find the dramatic drop in blood sugar through change to a raw vegan diet for only 30 days as miraclous! One man in particular entered the program with a blood sugar reading of almost 500 and within less than 30 days he had normal blood sugar readings. Even though I saw the movie which detailed each participant's vitals, I still am amazed. I always thought that once one became diabetic it was too late to reverse the disease, and it would progress from pills to eventually insulin shots. This is comforting to me because Type 2 diabetes is prevalent on my mother's side of the family.

    Hi Beautiful Raw-Fooders,
I know this group meets at a church but is it designated specifically Christian? I would like to invite a non-Christian friend who has diabetes. Although she would be comfortable with a moment of silent gratitude or a generic blessing, the Christian prayers would be off-putting. Would it be possible that Christian prayers be done in small groups once we are seated? As a Mystical Jewish-Catholic Christian I too would prefer a more inter-faith approach. Thanks everyone for your consideration. Pam

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
