i think i read that this meetup is going to be at a health center. i won't be coming if you don't have potlucks at restaurants. aren't there any besides simon's that have raw dishes? i know many or most restaurants will prepare raw dishes. it's unappetizing to meet at health centers, don't you think?

No actually I disagree. A potluck is where people bring their own dishes, and share their creations. A restaurant is where you order food, and only get their ideas. I like doing meetups outside of an establishment so people are free to walk around and interact and get to know each other. At a restaurant I feel too confined sitting in a chair, at least in a meetup situation.

Angel - The Abundant Health & Wellness Center is not your typical health center. It's an alternative health center. And it's a very warm, casual & intimate environment. Typically, restaurants won't allow people to bring their own food in. It's a violation of health dept. regulations.

    Hope you can be there!

    thanks for the responses.
i still don't feel a health center is appetizing.
let me know if anyone wants to meet elsewhere for raw meals.
it's like eating at a workout center, only worse.
i don't care if it's potluck or whatever, but there has to be somewhere in the world besides a hospital environment where people who want to meet and eat can go.
    thanks

    Hi Angel,
The owner of Abundant Health and Wellness Center has been working all week to create a nice atmosphere for the Raw Sarasota Group. I think you would be very comfortable there. He has created a home like feeling. I appriciate your comments. Its just hard for me to understand we have the power to create our own environment regardless of the situation. A happy person can be happy anywhere with friends.

    yes, thanks for the info.
i still find it unpalatable to eat where people go to be healed, regardless.
i don't like hospital cafeterias either.
good luck to you who can stand it, though!

Hey, a health center sounds a lot different from a hospital to my ears. If it's a nice place with nice food and good people I'm in! Now ... what was that about having lunch at the site of a greyhound protest?...

Hi, Angel. Your image of the Abundant Health & Wellness Center is much different from the reality of it. I'd recommend coming to check it out & see for yourself. You can then chose whether or not to participate in the potluck. Or just come for the speakers. That's really the main event anyway. Meanwhile, we meet (and have met) at a wide variety of locations over the years. This happens to be a good location for the speaking event & it's available for us that night.

Hi Angel, I also would love to have you join us. Maybe we could all plan a night to get together for dinner at a restuarant. Jenna did have excellent pot lucks at Veggie Magic/Vibe Crusine. Its unfortunate they had to close.

Thank you Jenna and Patty for bringing this together. I took away quite a lot. Great food as well.

Food shared truly outstanding. Kevin was great. Message excellent and delivery awesome. Live music terrific. Signage just outside door would be helpful announcing speakers and sponsor. I'd arrange the chairs in semi-circle to 'embrace' the group participants at least visually. Straight rows limit connections with others.
