Raw Vegan Potluck In Brecksville

Hello Everyone!  It's time once again for The Raw Vegan Potluck in Brecksville.  Please see the map for details.  NOW is the time to send in your RSVP and mark your calendar.

With the start of the new year and new beginnings, there will be some people looking to lose weight or improve their health with raw food.  I'm sure you also have some great tips.  Please come and share with us.

Please bring your smile, a hungry appetite, and a raw vegan (organic if possible) dish that has not been heated over about 110 degrees to share with 6-8 people. If you are a creative type then by all means invent something really unique.  If you are a newbie or a more simple foods oriented individual then just stop at the market and pick up something raw and fresh that you think will suit.  If you are coming as a couple, please bring an extra large, double, or a second entree. If you are coming directly from work and can't bring anything, please still come, as your friendship is of most importance and we usually have plenty of food for everyone.

We have stopped using as much of the disposable tableware as possible.  We have washable dishes, glasses and silverware for use at these potlucks but it is appreciated if you can bring your own setting if possible.  Please also bring a serving utensil to serve up your entree.

The social time will start at 6:30 pm and we will begin eating at 7:00 pm.  The Compass South Professional Building is easy to find from I-77.  Get off at the Wallings Road exit, and head east to get to Brecksville Road (Route 21).  Next turn right (South) on Brecksville Road until you get to the next traffic light.  The office building is on the right side and there is plenty of free parking.

You can park on the lower level and come up the stairs to our office on the second floor.  Our office is also handicap accessible if you continue past the lower level parking, turn left up the driveway and park in the upper level parking lot.  If parking is a problem with the restaurant's patrons, pull in next door in the restaurant's parking lot and ask for free valet parking.  You can enter at the second floor entrance. View the map for specific details.

A special message from Sandie is: "Because this is an all plant based raw vegan (mostly organic) gathering I would ask everyone to respect the request to keep the potluck just that.  No animal flesh or animal by-products, please. And no cooked vegan or processed vegan food, please. We are all about being vegan and raw.  Fresh, ripe, vegan, raw and organic (if possible).  Also, please refrain from using colognes and perfumes being considerate of those with sensitivities and allergies." Thank you for understanding.

We had good discussion about healthful topics considering the small group in attendance. The variety of raw foods in always amazing.

I look forward to hosting tonight's raw potluck here in Brecksville. We have a couple of door prizes for our new people. We have two mandoline slicers that are excellent for slicing and dicing those raw vegetables and fruits. Also, I am making a special treat for those chocolate lovers.

For those who need to park near our second floor entrance, we have been in constant communication with the restaurant next door. There will be cones in the restaurant parking lot to save the parking spaces near our entrance for our guests. If you need to drive up to the doorway, that walkway leading up to our door should be clear of any parked cars. Looking forward to seeing our regular friends but also hope to meet some new ones!

There's a raw vegan pot luck in Painesville on Monday, which is much closer (save on gas). Sorry, I'll have to bail this time.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
