Build Your Immune System, New Year Social with Raw Vegan Potluck

Happy New Year! I wish you all good health for the coming year!

Getting through the winter can be tough if the immune system is compromised.  With the flu season at epidemic levels, creating a nutrient-dense smoothie can be the key to killing those viral and bacterial bugs that cause havoc to our health.  Research has proven that whole plant-based foods give our bodies the nutrients it needs to build a strong immune system.  Hear the latest research, taste a few delicious green smoothies that will be created fresh at this presentation.  Using a brand new RAW Alkalizing Superfood, participants will be asked for their feedback on the recipes created with this brand new product NOT available in stores.

The social time will start at 6:30 pm and we will begin the potluck at 7:00 pm.  The featured speaker, host and Health Coach, Gloria Zabala, will begin the discussion and demonstration around 8:00.

You have the option to attend both the potluck and discussion or select one or the other. Also, feel free to just stop in to socialize for a bit or tour the facilities at any time during the event.

Please bring your smile, a hungry appetite, and a vegan (organic if possible) dish.  And if raw, has not been heated over about 110 degrees to share with 6-8 people. If you are a creative type then by all means invent something really unique.  If you are a newbie or a more simple foods oriented individual then just stop at the market and pick up something fresh that you think will suit.  If you are coming as a couple, please bring an extra-large, double, or a second entree. If you are coming directly from work and can't bring anything, please still come, as your friendship is of most importance and we usually have plenty of food for everyone.

It is appreciated that you bring your own setting if possible along with a serving utensil to serve with your entree.  If you forget or don't have everything, there will be extra settings and utensils.

The Office Atrium is conveniently located on Route 82 near I-77 between Broadview and Brecksville Roads.  We are meeting in the 1st floor lobby.  There is plenty of free parking all around the building with handicap parking close to the entrance doors.  The western side of the building has the closest entrance to the lobby.

A special message from Sandie is: "Because this is an all plant based raw vegan (mostly organic) gathering I would ask everyone to respect the request to keep the potluck just that.  No animal flesh or animal by-products, please. And no cooked vegan or processed vegan food, please. We are all about being vegan and raw.  Fresh, ripe, vegan, raw and organic (if possible).  Also, please refrain from using colognes and perfumes being considerate of those with sensitivities and allergies." Thank you for understanding.

It was an enjoyable evening event. We shared our raw, vegan potluck dishes with each other. Carol brought triple veg plate with zucchini, turnips and fennel and, also, Tahini Black Sesame Cookies. Everything was good from an array of salads with natural, home-made dressings to desserts like chocolate pudding and cashew/raisin balls to delicious, fresh-juiced lemon and lime juices. All the foods were excellent! Conversation was vibrant with healthy ideas shared among our group of adults (as well as two children). After the meal, Gloria gave a wonderful presentation using her Vitamix to make 2 different green smoothies in which she added organic CoreGreens Powders to help build our immune systems. For the last treat of the evening she mixed up a special green sauce laced with cinnamon oil. She had ready for us some sliced apples to dip into the sauce for a lovely and tasty snack. What a complete and healthy evening it was! Thanks to all who came out on the bitter cold night!
