HOW TO JOIN RDU PRIME TIMERS

To join the the Chapter via our Meetup site, you must already have an account with Meetup.com or sign up for an one at no cost to you. Meetup will not give your email to anyone (including us) and will not produce spam. Only a name (first name and initial are OK) and an email address are required. Members’ names and photos (if uploaded) will be visible to any visitor to this Web site, including non-members of Prime Timers. Therefore provide personal information with discretion.

If you already have a Meetup account, sign in to meetup, then click on any Join Us button on this site. If you do not have a Meetup account, skip ahead to Step by Step.

Individuals with Meetup Accounts

Note that your profile on Meetup.com includes all Meetup groups that you belong to. You may hide group and profile information on the RDU Prime Timer’s Web site, but you cannot hide your existing name or photo. You can, however, change your name to, for example, first name and initial under ACCOUNT and remove your photo. Under PROFILE you can hide your Meetup groups and profile. Or consider using another email address and setting up a new account with Meetup just for this group. Yahoo and Google both offer free, multiple email accounts.

STEP BY STEP for individuals not registered with Meetup.com.

1. Click on any Join Us button.
2. Enter your name (first name and initial are OK).
3. Enter your email address.
4. Enter a familiar password, such as the one you use for email.
5. Enter your Zip code and check Accept Terms of Service.
6. Check your email for a message from Meetup.com and click on the link to confirm.
7. Your request to join will be submitted to RDU Prime Timers for acceptance.
8. You will receive a welcome message or, if necessary, a request to modify your profile.

Congratulations! You have now joined the RDU Prime Timers’ Meetup site and are a guest member. Continue setting up your account. Provide as much or as little information as you wish. Questions with a red * require replies.

HOW TO JOIN RDU PRIMERS OUTSIDE OF MEETUP
You may join RDU Prime Timers without registering with Meetup.com. Simply send a check with your email address to the P.O. Box provided under Membership Dues or give your payment to an officer at an event.

We strongly recommend registering with Meetup.com (at no cost), however, because it is the primary vehicle for communications with our members regarding events and other matters of interest to them.
