Who is welcome?
Men and Women: 2.5 and above
2.5: Modest consistency. This player is learning to judge where the ball is going, although court coverage is weak. Can sustain a short rally of slow pace with other players of the same ability.
Timeline:
11:00 Say hello, pay $3 fee and warmup on any open court (new balls provided)
11:10 I'll huddle everyone together, do introductions and get things started
1:00 Tennis Ends
Where are the courts?
From off of Ashe avenue, take the Pullen Park entrance (Adaba dr) all the way to the end of the road. The tennis courts are on the hill you see in front of you on your left. Park and take the walkway to the courts. 398 Ashe Avenue Raleigh, NC 27606 Pullen Park
What happens to the money I pay?
Your $3 event fee goes towards new balls, court reservations, liability insurance, and meetup.com website fees.
How does the waiting list work?
Members on the waiting list receive an email whenever a Yes spot opens up. Whoever responds first gets in. This format is to cut down on the number of people that unknowingly get moved off the waiting list then don't show up.
What is your RSVP policy?
Your RSVP of "Yes" is a commitment and you are expected to show up. If you no-show or change your RSVP very late, penalties may be levied. Please contribute to the success of each event by honoring your RSVP.
What is a No-Show
A person that RSVPs Yes, but doesn't show up or a person that drops out of an event within 4 hours of an event (some exceptions exist)
What isn't a No-Show
Absence when there is a huge chance of rain
What happens if I don't show up
If you've attended 5 or less events, you risk being removed from the group after picking up 2 no-shows. If you're a regular member, you will be banned for a month if you acquire 2 no-shows in 4 months. You will be banned for a year if you acquire 4 no-shows in 5 months.
What happens if I arrive late
If you arrive more than 10 minutes from the event start time you are not guaranteed to play. The organizer reserves the right to turn you away if your presence would make numbers odd.
Nancy, it was a beautiful day! Sorry that you also got injured, hope you will recover swiftly. In my last with Kris, Kris had awesome shots ... it was a close match. Anyway. I have with me two sweaters , a gray one with a hood, and a white one ... someone must forgotten. I will bring it to the next Meetup. I had a great time, met great people.

Tracy & Duane,
Thank you guys for taking care of all the stuff that didn't go right today. I lost my phone (for a while,) left the balls in the wrong car, miscounted the people, played like a...a...well, let's just say I wasn't doing my best, and that was before the wood thing went through my hand.
I'm going to get a first aid kit for my tennis bag, largely because this is not the first time I've been treated with stuff from Tracy's.
I got a little blood on my tennis shoes, but we can thank Steven for providing injury-wrapping advice.
I have to take a week off anyway, so if I have to be injured, the timing isn't all that bad.
Thanks again, Guys!
