Introduction

I recently moved here after 20 years in Manhattan, where tennis courts were hard to come by. Here in Raleigh, the Summerfield community courts are just 20 yards from my back deck, so I'm inspired to pick up a racquet and get hittin'!

What is your NTRP playing level (http://tiny.cc/ntrp)? Beginner: 1.5-2.0. Most players: 2.5-3.5. Skilled: 4.0+

3.0

What would you like to do in this meetup?

Play tennis! Would also like to meet some new, fun people.

What do you love about the game?

What's not to love about it???

Hi Doug! Glad to have you in our group. I notice that your main instrument is keys. Just wanted to let you know that, while the first meetup is planned for acoustic instruments only, in the future I'm going to try to see if there are places where we can go and plug in. If you have a battery-powered speaker for your keyboard, however, I'm sure that would work just fine at the first meetup.

I got my eye still on 6 PM but I don't think so, I already cancelled my usual Sun singles on Sun -- they say with the wind going to feel like in the 20's -- so great last night, my friend Mike and I played 4 sets at Milbrook and it was still in the 70's.

I know that pain of trying to play in Manhattan. I lived there for nine years. Go to the court an hour early to sign up for an hour. At exactly one hour the next wave runs on to the court. Frustrating.
