I have been screwed TWICE by a member from this group (who has posted a few times) and I wanted to forward a warning to others. I want to send this email to warn others. Please email me privately for details of name, etc.

This member had posted that he wanted a short-term loan. I went ahead and met with him, formalized a contract with a lawyer and notary, and yet, despite the explicit terms and situation of the loan, he defaulted, disappeared and refused to respond to any of my phone calls or emails, until finally he reluctantly paid me what he owed me, over 2 weeks late. Even then, he was rude and completely unprofessional.

During the time we were finalizing the contract, I referred a tenant to him for one of his properties. I recruited the tenant through one of my own listings, and even mediated the lease, and met him and the tenant at his property, and shuttled the tenant back to her destination. The tenant signed the lease on the spot and gave him a nearly $2000 check. I arranged with this member that I was to get a $100 referral fee (a very small fee considering all the work I did for him, and the added income this provided him). He agreed, but has yet to pay me this very minimal referral fee. It has been nearly 4 months since the tenant moved in.

It's obvious that this member is not honest, and is only looking to take advantage of others, which is very unfortunate, since this list is about property owners helping each other out. I have given this member the benefit of the doubt multiple times, and have waited for payment for a long time. Although he finally paid me for the loan, he has yet to pay me the referral fee. He still is ignoring my emails, texts and phone calls.
