Have you always wanted to learn to dance but been too intimidated, subconscious, or couldn’t find a partner? Well, with friends there’s no room for intimidation and no partner is required.
The Tango is a standard ballroom dance that originated in South America in the early twentieth century. It is a sensual dance that is recognized in various forms, worldwide. Lets explore the sexy and exotic world of ballroom and Latin dance together.
Dancing is a great way to have fun, socialize, relieve stress, and shed some extra weight all at the same time. Lets schedule a couple of hours out of our busy routines to get in shape, learn a new skill, de-stress, and have some fun.
Lessons will be held on Sunday afternoons from 2:00-3:00 followed by 3 hours of general dancing (mixed standard and Latin beats). The cost is $8.00 and includes free coffee, tea, and water. The lessons run 6 consecutive weeks and advance in a natural progression from basic to more advanced; however, as this is a pay as you go system, you are not tied in to any commitment. You only pay for the lessons you attend. Also, as there is quite a large crowd of students that attend these lessons (mostly singles), you do not need to bring a partner (although it helps that we are going as a group).
Parking is behind the Police Association building and you enter through the rear doors. We will meet just inside these doors at around 1:45. Cash payment is made at the entrance to the dance hall. As this is a large group class with minimal individual attention, it is highly advised that you come to the initial lesson if you plan on taking any of the more advanced classes. We hope to see you there.
