Animal Foundation Service Project

Confirmed volunteers will receive an email from Jessica Brooks the week of the event with all shift details.

On the weekend of April 27th and 28th, you have three opportunities to volunteer for our April Service Project with the Animal Foundation, surrounding their annual Best in Show event. When you RSVP, please indicate your preference of one of the three following options.

# 1 ---Saturday, April 27 from 11-4pm at the Animal Foundation Campus at 655 North Mohave Road. Shift includes helping with the vendor fair and carnival, adoptions, walking dogs and so much more on campus to prepare for the main event! .  Check in with Jessica BrooksVolunteer Coordinator (702)[masked] ext. 114 (702)[masked] [masked]

More details for Saturday shift - Members will be meeting with me (Jessica Brooks) in front of the large white adoptions tent on campus. Once everyone is checked in, I will be teaching everyone how to run the carnival games so that everyone will be able to rotate (so they can try everything)! At the first slow period, I will be taking small groups back to the bungalows and training them on working with the dogs. The shift is still 12:00 to 4:00 pm, but I will be ready for early arrivals at 11:30 am, setting up and training if they like. If possible, they should also wear their awesome Rotary t-shirts so we know who they are representing. And then of course, long pants and close-toed shoes.

# 2----Sunday, April 28 from 8-12pm at the Orleans Casino/Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave., Las Vegas, NV, 89103, Phone:[masked]. Shift includes helping with the set up duties for the “Best in Show” the American Kennel Club-style dog show featuring more than 50 amazing contestants from the shelter.  Check in withJessica BrooksVolunteer Coordinator (702)[masked] ext. 114 (702)[masked] [masked]

More details for Sunday shifts - The check in area will be at the back entrance; this is where the Foster pups are being dropped off and where the early volunteers are checking in for their shifts. The later shift to help inside will also check in here, but will then walk upstairs to the main registration area upstairs. There will be other people checking in here too so it will be easy to find.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
