Once Upon a Timeline: HTML5/CSS3 tools for cross-platform interactive animations

With the demise of Flash, new tools are becoming available that can help artists and designers create websites and mobile apps with beautiful animations, motion graphics, and interactivity--all without typing a single parenthesis or semicolon!

Illustrator/animator Adam Winsor will demonstrate different tools and techniques, show examples from his own work and around the internet, and lead a discussion about animation for mobile and web applications.

We'll talk about:

1. Workflow for creating the graphics and illustrations for complex, layered animated scenes
2. Basic animation principles for smooth motion and functionality
3. Working with audio
4. Considerations for multi-platform distribution
5. Some of the various new animation tools that are available
6. Problems with this approach (it's not perfect!)
7. Resources for learning more.

Update: I'm co-hosting a Twitter chat tonight, sharing all my insights and lessons learned from my (successful!) Kickstarter campaign. If you're interested in the gritty details of crowd-funding a small creative mobile app, you can follow or join the discussion on Twitter or your tweet-collector of choice tonight between 9 and 10 pm using hashtag #storyappchat

The speaker was so informative, entertaining, and dare I say-- handsome. Also very humble. (Thanks for having me, it was lots of fun!)

Very interesting presentation by Adam. It isn't my field, but I learned a lot about the different ways he does animation.

Yes! And the workshop is built around the same one I've designed for Front End Masters. It's a steal!
