Pair Program at an Americas friendly time

Okay, so it's still early in the day on the Pacific coast, but how about this more Americas friendly time? A few more details available here: https://plus.google.com/events/cl6av7m6drhmf8dl25lv4k46gt4 but the key thing is that we all come online, chat and work out what we fancy remote pair programming on.

Feel free to connect to me on Skype (username "tansaku") to join the live remote pair programming text chat room that helps us coordinate these things. And by all means let's chat about what we'd like to pair on in the chat associated with the event. In the last session before Xmas it was all jasmine testing in rails, but we're all ears for what you'd like to work on next :-)

I'll post a google hangout link 5 minutes in advance of the event, and if you happen to be in London, England you can join us in person :-)

It was so busy I forgot to record the meeting from the start, but here's a bit towards the end that I did manage to capture:

It ended up being show and tell - in future we hope to have more breakout sessions

Are specific pair programming tools recommended then? I've used toyed with Floobits one time. I'd prefer to be using my Sublime Text 3 and I'll definitely be on Ubuntu.

we tend to start with google hangouts, and I'm a big fan of github pong - see this repo for more details on that: https://github.com/Pai...

I've not done rails nor jasmine, although I'm interested in jasmine. The majority of my work the last 14 years or so has tended towards LAMP. In the last couple years I'm doing more JS and at this point I'm most interested in things like backbone (have experience), angular (next on my list), node (only got my feet wet so far), etc.

But do let me know. If the consensus is rails I'm not really a good candidate at this time.

Some things I do need to look at this week in some dev/ops pairing are testing in saucelabs if anyone is interested, and a friend was starting to get me interested in emberjs ...

Thanks Sam. I will be first time remote pair programming and pretty green with angular (watched the egghead.io tut) and node (the stanford startup mooc and a bit more self study). But yes I'd be very interested.
