RDI Meeting Tonight Mark Pytiak of Green Home Energy

Hey Renegades,

In this day and age it is difficult to NOT think about energy costs especially when it comes to your investment homes. Your buyers and renters are no different than you in this category.

I learned the hard way when I first started doing rentals in Detroit. I figured out really fast if my tenants had large utility bills and not enough money to pay all their bills, they almost always chose NOT to pay me and instead keep the heat, ac, and lights on.

This month Mark of Green Home Energy will be sharing a wealth of knowledge of small, medium, and LARGE ways for you to use energy efficency to add value to your flips or rentals.

Mark Pytiak is owner/operator of Green Home Energy, a home performance contracting company based in West Bloomfield, MI. Mark grew up in the construction business with his father being a custom home builder, and after graduating college in 2008 and working in various fields in the construction industry, started Green Home Energy in 2011. He has since worked in over 150 homes, making them more comfortable, energy efficient, and less costly to run through a process of testing and installing energy efficient retrofits. Green Home Energy is a Trade Ally in the DTE and Consumers Energy Home Performance with Energy Star program, which makes their clients eligible for up to $5,000 in cash rebates for making energy efficient improvements. Mark was borne and raised in South East Michigan, and currently resides in Ferndale with his fiance Laura. At this Tuesday's RDI meeting Mark will be covering a number of topics which are extremely relevant to homeowners and real estate investors alike. The topics covered will include, but will not be limited to: A basic overview of building science and how the home "works as a system", the comprehensive home energy audit, sample projects and results, all current Consumers Energy and DTE rebate programs, the Michigan Saves financing program, and most importantly how real estate investors can use this program to their advantage.
