NYC Peak Oil September Meetup

We're trying out a new venue, so note the changed date and location.

Instead of meeting at the Wai Cafe, the main monthly meeting will take place at the Subud Center, 230 West 29th Street, from 7 - 9 PM. The room is larger and we can sit in a circle, but we can't order food and drink. Plan to eat before or bring in takeout.

The first hour or so was quite good -- stuck to agenda and topics well. But the "5 minute" break turned into 35 minutes. Let's try to finish on time and save the individual chats for post-meeting.

It was a great experience for me to see so many intelligent and proactive people who understand the situation and are trying to do something about it. Before yesterday I thought that the "static" and "extraordinary popular dellusions" dominating in our culture were impenetrable. Now I see otherwise. Another pleasant surprise was that there was no hysteria or panicky mood among the people -- everyone in the core group was calm and even cool about the situation.

You guys are incredible and doing a phenomenally useful work.

The meeting is really shaping up. We may have gone over time, but we used the time well and no one took us off focus.
